I am a full-time college student and am over halfway done with my degree but am ALWAYS strapped for money. I work a full-time job but have no help from my family with college, bills, food, etc. I feel like I just can't be 19 and LIVE because I am always worrying about how I am going to buy my next book. My CD collection is worth about $1,600, and that would cover me until I graduate and can get a decent job. My fiance' doesn't really want me to and says we will come up with the money but he has his own financial situations to worry about that I don't want to burden him. It's not like I won't ever be able to listen to the music again...I plan on copying them all onto my computer and making copies. My taste have changed a lot too over the years so there are only a select few I listen to still. What should I do?

Sell your stuff. Sell it before no one wants it anymore. I'm curious to know how you know it it worth $1600? Sell your fiance's collection, too! Make your haul $1650!

Think of how many cds you could buy after you get a good-paying job with all the money you'll rake in because of your degree!!

And think of how hard it will be to cart those cds around once you become homeless and destitute because you couldn't pay your bills.

Well, look at it this way:

If the CD collection holds some sort of sentimental value for you, consider not selling it, because those things can be priceless.

If the CD's are just some things that you have lying around and don't hold any significant purpose (besides for your listening entertainment), then go on to sell them.

There's always many other places that you can get your music from, having CD's just for the sake of listening to them has become pretty much obsolete.

I recommend selling what you can.

While it's technically illegal to keep copies yourself, whatever you can sell it for today at 50 cents or more a song can mean good in the long run.

People just aren't buying CDs anymore, so if you can sell any, good luck, save the money and learn a lesson. In the later future, music will become much more affordable (at $1 a song or less legally).

Hope that helps.

you're able to get $1000-1500 at one shot merchandising them to a used CD shop - you're able to get greater merchandising them individually, even with the shown fact that it is going to take perpetually and no assure you will sell all of them
