I dont have either a drivers license number or state issued ID to open a bank account at most places, are there any banks that dont require that? All I want is a checking account that I can access online. I have all the other info needed such as social security number. Thanks.

You can usually use any government issued ID to open a bank account. A passport or green card should work. Valid foreign issued IDs may also work.

The patriot act requires banks to obtain detailed ID information about all account holders, so there is absolutely no way that you can open an account without an ID.

State IDs are relatively inexpensive and easy to obtain. Check your state's DMV website for all of the details. A photo ID is always a good thing to have anyway.

The Patriot Act now makes banks require a state or government issued ID or a passport.

Without either of those, they cannot legally give you an account.

You're probably going to need some form of picture ID. The only way to be sure is to call the bank and ask them.

sure you can.....most banks will accept a drivers license, non drivers license, state id, school id, greencard or passport as acceptable id.
