I've sold my laptop and i think the guy gave me fake money.I'm not 100% sure but it just feels weird.
So what do i do? go to the bank? ask them? or try to pay for something with this money... but it's bad if it's fake..i don't want to give other people fake money. BUT the thing is i'm not sure if it's fake or not. How can find out without going to the bank?

if you are planning on using them anyways, careful if they are big bills (50 and 100), they usually check those at stores nowadays and confiscate them from you if they are. You can always buy one of those pens used to check bills at Office Depot or Staples or such

Take it to a bank to check. or to the police. I know, you would prefer not to, but it can save a lot of trouble afterwards.

If the bills are fake, then you'll want the authorities to get the culprits (it might not be the person who paid you).

If the guy gave you fake money and you try to use it, you will be the one in trouble.

You could go to your bank and have them see if it is real, but, if it is fake, don't expect them to hand it back to you. LOL

Are these large bills? If so, they are going to check to see if they are legit at any retailer you go to.

how do you its fake money (its a federal offense by the way if you are in the US)

maybe its foreign currency?

you don't give us many details

are you in the US? Canada? the UK? (they have euros now)?

but if you are unsure the only way is to take to the bank or a police officer

or possible the secret service office (if you are in the US) they would know
