First time using ebay, wondering if it's possible to pay COD. I don't like giving my credit/ bank card numbers online. Thanks :)

Cash On Delivery means you pay the person making the delivery. This is RARELY an option for anything these days. The PREFERRED payment method for most eBay sellers is PayPal, which was created specifically to allow online payments without giving your account information to the actual sellers. eBay allows each seller to decide what forms of payment they will accept, and I have never seen COD as an option.

Unless the seller specifies this, there is no COD!! Click on the shipping & payments tab, this will tell you how the seller wants to be paid. But 99% of the time, this is either paypal or credit card.

COD is an archaic thing of the past. It is rarely used anymore.

Take a serious look at Paypal.

The whole idea of that is, once you have set it up, you can pay people without them ever knowing any of your bank or credit card info.

It also gives you some protection if the seller does not send you an item you've bought, or if it's not what the listing says it is.

If you pay cash, you are stuck with whatever you have paid for..

unfortunately i don't think any of the sellers would do c.o.d on ebay, as most of them mail through royal mail or private carrier and would need paying up front. if you lived near the seller and you wanted to pick it up i am sure paying then would be fine.

otherwise the options would be to pay by cheques in advance, although this is only available through some sellers. of course the best way would be to ask a friend with an ebay account to purchase the item for you. always best to offer to pay them the cash in advance though.

I don't think ebay allows for COD, and sellers are advised not to ship the item until it is paid for. Many sellers accept a cheque. However, if you could find the item for auction within your area, most sellers are happy to accept payment in cash if you come to collect it.

Paypal protects your information over the internet. There is no such thing as COD, you have to pay within the time the seller asks or your account can get flagged.

No seller will offer this for many reasons.

Some do offer pick up only from their address and you can then pay cash, this usually applies to bulky items.

only if you collect it in person from the sellers home address. you cannot pay on delivery from a courier or postman
