I was living in Spain 10 years ago. Today I received a letter from a Spanish bank requesting account fees. I forgot to close my bank account 10 years ago and I left my account with 0 balance or maybe there were a few euros. I can't remember honestly. I can't believe they can send a letter after 10 years! I am not sure how they get my address abroad. Is this legal??They said I have to pay 140 euros within 10 days??is this a joke?

Do not respond. That will just verify your address.

These people can stuff it.

Let them get a lawyer in your new country and sue you for this small amount.

Just a minute...if this is an unpaid debt, and is due under the terms of your account with the bank, ever thought it might just land on your credit report...?
