I'm 14 years old and I buy alot of NCIS stuff from amazon.co.uk
We live in a small village and my mum banks with halifax (out in the town) and we dont drive so it's hard to get into town just to pay some money in, however I bank with Lloyds (there is a branch where i live) so it is ideal if i want to buy something online.
You must be 18 to create an amazon account, and I really need/want one. I know they must verify your bank details, BUT do they verify your DOB at the same time??

Thanks x

Don't worry, they won't verify your DOB. As long as you shop normally, Amazon will "pretend" you're an adult. Trust me.

If you have a debit card you can bank online, although from that age you should be allowed one. Some get them from 16, but it should be 18 really. Anyway, if Amazon find out your account will be removed. It is not a good idea. They have age limits for a reason. Your Mum has an account you can use. You could probably add your card details to that account and pay that way.

Edit: I couldn't get a debit card until I was 18. Neither could my friend. Maybe it depends on the bank, but 16 should be the youngest.

I don't think they do verify your DOB as you have to pay to recieve the goods, they don't do credit. However I was under the impression you can't have a debit card in the UK till you're 16 so how are you going to pay for your stuff?

They verify all your details whenthey verify your card details, everything has to match. Name, DOB, Address, etc... Otherwise the card will be rejected, they would be commiting fraud if they allowed someone who entered the wrong DOB to access what could be someone elses bank card.

You can transfer money from your account to your mums at your bank, or even online.

You don't NEED an amazon account you WANT one, as long as you are doing things legally then amazon wont bother about whether you are over 18 or not

They will know, during the debit card check they check the status of the account and which account it is.
