I need to give my bank account number and routing number to a client of mine so that he can make deposit or payments to my Western Union account. There's a cheap transfer fee so that's why I've chosen WU, unless you know of any better options. I was wondering is this safe? Can the client distort my bank account and withdraw money?

Payments can be made directly between bank accounts at all major banks without involving a third party, such as Western Union, which I have always found to charge excessive fees for transfers.

Do you trust your client? Anyway, your bank account and routing number is on the bottom of every check you use. And agree with Allan: do bank to bank. Or he can just give/send you a check, if you are that worried about your banking info.
